Baseball clinic draws record attendance

The coaching staff and players teach the basics to 146 youngsters.

The Fairport High School Baseball Booster Club held it's annual youth baseball clinic at the Fairport High School gym on Saturday.

Even though there was concern on having it on Easter weekend, the clinic had its biggest attendance ever. Last year's clinic had 121 kids and this year's clinic had 146.

The event was for youth from ages 5 to 16. All the players left with smiles on their faces and Fairport High School T-shirt on their back. They were taught basic baseball skills by the Fairport coaching staff and players.

The Fairport baseball program is partially funded by the Baseball Booster Club. In addition to this event they will be selling snacks and business pens around town until April 12. Additionally they will be having a car wash at Key Bank (Perinton Square) on May 1.

Donations will be gratefully accepted. Checks may be made out to the FHS Baseball Booster Club and mailed to Mrs. Becky Gardner at 43 Country Corner, Fairport, NY 14450.

Snacks and pens may be ordered by contacting Kevin McKenna at 585-425-2228.
